“Potli Biryani“ name itself is enough!😉 Try this flavourful Potli Biryani this Diwali to impress your loved ones😎


1 tsp Salt
4 Cardamom
2 Bay Leaves
1-inch Cinnamon
1 Star Anise
4-5 Black Peppercorns
2 tbsp Fried Onions
1.5 cups Soaked Basmati Rice
3 tbsp Ghee
1 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Cumin Seed
½ cup Cauliflower
½ cup Green peas
½ cup Carrot
½ cup Beans
½ cup Potato
200 gm Paneer
¾ cup Yogurt
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
2 tsp Garam Masala
1 tbsp Kasuri Methi
2 tbsp Mint Leaves
2 tbsp Coriander Leaves
½ cup Fried Onions
2 cups Refined Flour
½ tsp Baking Powder
½ tsp Salt
2 tbsp Yogurt


In boiling water add 1 tsp Salt, 4 Cardamom, 2 Bay Leaves, 1-inch Cinnamon, 1 Star Anise, 4-5 Black Peppercorns, 2 tbsp Fried Onions and 1.5 cups Soaked Basmati Rice. Boil it for 10 minutes and then drain the water from it.

Heat a pan and add 3 tbsp Ghee, 1 tbsp Oil, 1tbsp Cumin Seed, ½ cup Cauliflower, ½ cup Green peas, ½ cup Carrot, ½ cup Beans, ½ cup Potato, 200 gm Paneer, ¾ cup Yogurt, ½ tsp Turmeric Powder, 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder, 2 tsp Garam Masala, 1 tbsp Kasuri Methi, 2 tbsp Mint Leaves, 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves and ½ cup Fried Onions. Cook it properly.

To make Potli take 2 cups Refined Flour, ½ tsp Baking Powder, ½ tsp Salt, 2 tbsp Yogurt and Water. Make a soft dough and roll the dough according to the size of biryani.

Apply oil to the boil. Keep prepared big flatten roti in a bowl. Keep the boiled rice first then keep cooked veggies and lastly keep fried onions. Repeat this procedure twice.

Pack the potli and bake it at 180°c for 20 minutes. Now slowly open it and serve delicious hot Potli Biryani!
